How long have you lived in Chico?

I have lived in Chico the majority of my life. My family and I came to Chico from the Bay Area when I was 5 years old.

What is your fondest childhood memory?

One of my fondest childhood memories was when my family and I lived in Berkeley. My mother would take me for walks a couple of times a week and on our walks we would go to this little corner store that had Martinelli’s apple juice, (the little ones in the glass jars) which was my favorite. I must have been about 3 or 4 years old.

What subject(s) did you study at College?

In college I studied accounting from the start, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

What was your first job?

My first job was at a burger place in town.

Who has been the most influential person to you in your career?

The most influential person for my career thus far was a partner at the firm that I previously worked for. She took me under her wing and taught me as much as she possibly could. I am grateful for the time and energy that she put into me and my career.

How has your career created value in your life?

My career has enabled for me to be motivated and confident in life.

What do you consider to be the most significant world event that has occurred during your lifetime?

The most significant world event that has happened in my life so far is when I had my daughter. She is the light of my life.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

I have not been able to travel much but my daughter loves going to the beach. Last year I took my daughter to Aptos and we stayed down the street from one of the beaches there. We must have been on that beach 80% of our stay. It was so sweet to see her having a blast in the water and sand.

What is the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you?

I cannot thing of one moment that was the funniest because I do my best to have a lot of little funny things in my life. My father and I are the pranksters in our family and are always trying to make the moments we share together funny.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Besides my wonderful daughter, I am most proud of my degree. Being a single parent, working full-time, and earning a degree is not an easy feat but I am very proud of myself to have persevered through it.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I love to crochet and read.

If you could possess one super-human power, what would it be?

If I could have a super power it would probably be to read minds. I am a person that always wants to help others and know how they are thinking or feeling. If I could read minds I would know how to help them without asking what they think or feel.
