How long have you lived in the Midwest?
I currently reside in Missouri, about an hour north-east of Kansas City.
What is your fondest childhood memory?
My fondest childhood memory was rushing home from school every afternoon to feed my pet rabbits all kinds of vegetables. And *Trying* to brush my angora rabbit, Wuzzy.
What subject(s) did you study at College?
I actually didn’t attend college but that hasn’t kept me from learning. I’ve self-studied quite a bit, but my favorite is Old English Literature. I always told myself if I attended college, it would be for history. I’ve always wanted to be a museum curator.
What was your first job?
My first job was working in the pool house or the golf course at a country club.
Who has been the most influential person to you in your career?
The most influential person in my career has been my 911 Dispatch supervisor Michelle. She showed me that I can literally handle anything, the only barrier is giving yourself the choice to fail.
How has your career created value in your life?
My career brings out the better parts of my personality which normal people consider quirks. It’s allowed me to accept that I am just an exceedingly detailed person, and that’s ok. (Most of the time)
What do you consider to be the most significant world event that has occurred during your lifetime?
The Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Spain is under construction still after 200 years. It’s exciting to think it may be completed in my lifetime.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
Spending 80% of my vacation in Manhattan at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, much to the dismay of my friends. I remember thinking that I am literally feet away from something the most prolific artists of all time touched and created with their own hands. It was a humbling experience. Yes, I did cry.
What is the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you?
I was on the way to a Bon Voyage party for my friend, which I was running late for. I ran down the stairs in my brand new, very fancy heels and cocktail dress, the heel just happened to find a crack in the steps through the carpet and I fell down 2 flights of stairs and through the decorative window by the entry door to my apartment building. Missed the party, ruined my heels, tore my dress and had 15 stitches.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
I won an art competition in my early 20’s. I spent days on a charcoal drawing, and it was a little odd, but I was so happy that someone found beauty in something I created.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I groom or play with my small army of Pekingese dogs. They are the most vicious warriors I’ve ever encountered. (not)
If you could possess one super-human power, what would it be?
Manipulate time. Stop it and rewind only. I don’t want to know how stories end.
