Joseph Malone, CPA

How long have you lived in the New York?

I was born and raised on Long Island and have lived in New York all my life.

What is your fondest childhood memory?

The fort bed with slide my grandmother bought for me that took up my whole bedroom. It had a gigantic play area underneath and I never wanted to give it up.

What subject(s) did you study at College?

I started as a Math major looking to go into Law, but changed to Accounting when math moved more into theories and less into numbers.

What was your first job?

My first job was working in retail for GameStop in college.

Who has been the most influential person to you in your career?

My mother who pushed me to really be my best when I was in school and helped me to be the best I can be.

How has your career created value in your life?

My career has really allowed me to meet very interesting people and expand my horizons.

What do you consider to be the most significant world event that has occurred during your lifetime?

The biggest event that has happened is 9/11. I remember my dad being in the heart of the World Trade Center and not coming home until very late for months on end because he was a police Captain.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

This would be when I flew for the first time to go meet everyone at RLA.  It was a fun filled trip and created some great memories of driving through the mountains with some of my coworkers.

What is the funniest thing that’s ever happened to you?

I think one of the funniest things is when my father was buying a car and another dealership called me to say that he had a car for my father. So on the same day we purchased two cars.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Having done the whole CPA exams in just about a year and having passed all parts on the first try.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Spare time is spent in the summers driving and going to car shows as well as riding motorcycles. I also am into history and love building computers.

If you could possess one super-human power, what would it be?

If I could have one super power I would love to be Batman because his superpower is money.
